The Occupational Certificate: Truck Driver NQF Level 3 prepares learners to operate as professional truck drivers within the road freight and transport industry. Truck drivers operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass above 3,500 kg and are responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient transportation of cargo from point of departure to point of arrival.
This qualification develops the learner’s ability to plan trips, prepare vehicles, secure loads, operate trucks safely, follow road traffic legislation, and maintain required transport documentation.
Purpose of qualification
The purpose of this qualification is to equip learners with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience to operate as competent truck drivers in South Africa’s transport sector.
